Port Colborne’s Lock 8 Gateway Park will be home to ship lovers from across the Great Lakes next month as they gather to check out the city’s shipping history.
Seaway Ship Watchers Network founder Michael Folsom said the May 11 event is part of the Seaway Traders initiative to promote the St. Lawrence Seaway system on its 65th anniversary.
Seaway Traders is a binational collaboration of the ship watchers network, based in Clayton, N.Y., and Montreal’s Griffintown Media and will tell the story of the seaway through a season-long series of feature articles, videos, podcasts and events.
Folsom said the Port Colborne event allows ship watchers to turn online acquaintances made on the network into real life connections. Full article
